Gmail launches scheduled emails and Smart Compose improvements for its 15th birthday

Today Google is adding several new features to celebrate Gmail’s 15th birthday. The main new feature is "Schedule email", this feature allows users to schedule an email to be sent at a later date and time, by clicking the arrow next to the “Send” button in the compose window. You'll be able to choose from presets like (tomorrow morning, tomorrow afternoon,) or you can simply pick the exact date and time you want to send the email.

Gmail is also improving its Smart Compose feature. The update include the following:

  • Smart Compose remembers what kind of greetings you prefer to use on your emails Gmail. For example, if you prefer to greet your colleagues with “Hey team,” over “Hi team” then Smart Compose will remember that.
  • Smart Compose will now also suggest subject lines based on the email's content.
  • Smart Compose is now available for new languages: Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
  • Smart Compose is now available on Android and coming to iOS devices soon. Smart Compose was previously only available on Pixel 3.
